Glyceric macerates: what they are

Glyceric macerates, also known as gemmoderivatives, are hydro-glyceric-alcoholic solutions obtained from buds, buds and embryonic tissues of the fresh plant.

These preparations contain young parts of the plant, rich in gibberellins, hormones, enzymes and growth factors that allow the plant to reach maturity.

The preparation of glyceric macerates follows precise rules, which mainly refer to the French Pharmacopoeia.

To prepare a glyceric macerate, the buds are cleaned, crushed and left to macerate for 21 days in a solvent made up of glycerin and alcohol.

The glycerin, preferably vegetal and extracted from corn or coconut, makes the solvent less aggressive towards the delicate buds or other young parts of the plant.

Glyceric macerates have a significantly lower alcohol content (maximum 39°) compared to mother tinctures, making their use safer and also advisable for children, the elderly and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

For the use of glyceric macerates, it is advisable to always consult your doctor who will establish the dose, method and timing of the correct therapy. The typical method of use involves taking 150 drops per day (or 50 drops 3 times a day) to be diluted in 15 ml of water.

Glyceric macerates are used to combat countless disorders, depending on the plant used. For example, the glyceric macerate of garcinia cambogia is a valid adjuvant for losing weight, while that of echinacea has immunostimulant properties.
