North Jutland by bike

North Jutland is an ideal area for cycling, with many cycle paths and diverse landscapes to explore. A cycling trip could include visiting historic towns such as Ribe, Denmark’s oldest town, with cobbled streets and half-timbered houses.
You could also head to the island of RĂžmĂž, connected to the coast by a strip of land, where you can enjoy the beach and sports such as landsailing, a form of entertainment that involves riding the wind along the shoreline.
A cycling route could start in Aarhus, the European Capital of Culture 2017, with its beautiful old town, charming squares, Latin Quarter and cosy cafés.
After leaving the city, you can cycle along the stream and through wetlands and lakes, until you reach the small village of Ry, located on the banks of the GudenĂ„en, Denmark’s only real river.
Another interesting stop could be a visit to the buried church, Tilsandede Kirke, in Skagen, a white structure that stands out from the sand in the dunes.
Skagen is also the northernmost point of Jutland and offers panoramic views of the ocean.
During the trip, you can also explore the island of FanĂž, inhabited by fishermen and very popular in the summer, and the island of RĂžmĂž, with its sand dunes and grass, frequented by cycling groups.
For the complete experience, you could consider renting a bicycle to ensure you have the best mechanical assistance and to be able to explore the Scandinavian landscapes at your leisure.
